  131.   Almost every evening I read my mail and I save all messages with votes
  132.   in one file. And almost every evening there are messages that make me
  133.   sigh. I noticed that there are three types of messages that frustrate me.

  135.   It's all explained in the Top 100 document and it is explicitly stated
  136.   on top of each weeks' list, but there are still many people every week
  137.   who just send their votes in any form they like. Here are a few examples

  215.   And this was even a quiet week! Come on guys (and girls)! You all read
  216.   those few lines at the top of the list that tell about the format. Let
  217.   it work in your brain! Let it make you realise that anything other than
  218.   the proper format cannot be parsed automatically. It's so frustrating
  219.   that other people's foolishness costs me extra time and money.
  220.   
  221.   Oh well, I'll have to live with it, I think. I know that I can't change 
  222.   the world, and I can't make people smarter.
  223.   
  224.   The second type of messages that make me sigh are the messages that
  225.   contain a quote of the entire Top 100. I get several of these each week.
  226.   There's no point in sending me a copy of the entire list, because I
  227.   already know what's in it! I stopped wading through messages like these.
  228.   I just send back a standard message and I ask the sender to send his
  229.   message again, without the unnecessary quote. That's a lot easier for me.
  230.   
  231.   The third type are the messages with votes for Doom II. I don't store
  232.   these votes, because the Top 100 will never contain unreleased games.
  233.   I don't care a thing about people playing an illegal copy of Doom II.
  234.   That's not my concern. But the fact that people already vote for it,
  235.   make me think that they don't even know that the game has not been
  236.   released yet. That is plain ignorance, and that makes me sigh.
